A small victory
Small Victories was a company I co-founded with Jacob Heftmann and Jake Hobart which took files in a Dropbox folder and turned them into a website.
Built on Ruby on Rails, Small Victories communicated with Dropbox via webhooks and the Dropbox API to automatically build websites based on a theme text file and the files in a folder.
When a user updated a file in one of their Small Victories sites folder, Small Victories automatically rebuilt their site. Users could choose from 10 different themes, setup a custom domain and even password protect their site.
Small Victories was hosted on Heroku with Postgres and then migrated to AWS, making use of RDS Postgres, ElastiCache, SQS and Elastic Beanstalk.
Before shutting down Small Victories I was working on a newer, faster version in Go, however it was never released.
Small Victories had over 10,000 users and 10,000 sites.
